Composition in Photography

 Balance -
I chose this photo because it has balance both from the left side to right side and also from top to bottom. I think it shows balance perfectly.

 Rule of Thirds -
This is a photo of a pond while the sun is setting. There is a tree without leaves and it's reflection in the pond on the whole left side rule of thirds grid.

 Selective Focus -
This is a shot of what looks to be iced tea at a parade or some kind of event. The glass is in focus while the background is out of focus so the glass of iced tea really stands out.

 Timing/Decisive moment -
This photo shows Steven Stamkos taking a slap shot and it is shot so you can see his stick bend/flex while shooting.

Texture -
This is a shot of the ripples made from the shadow of the sand when the sun hits it from a certain angle. It shows the texture very well.

Spring Poster

I wanted my Spring Sensations poster to be really simple and clear. I put the music note with the wings on it to make my poster interesting rather than having the whole poster be plain music notes. The regular music notes kept it nice and simple. There is some light blue that starts to fade to white in the poster and that was used to make the background resemble a sky.

Composition Photos

Depth - Selective Focus
The lacrosse ball and bench are in focus while the background is blurred/out of focus.

Framing - Man-made
I used the baseball diamond's fence as a frame to take a picture of the water tower.

Rule of Thirds -
The lacrosse stick is laying against a fence and is on one of the rule of thirds lines.

Texture -
A picture of the lacrosse stick's mesh and shooting strings. You can see it has been used from the dirt on the mesh.

Timing/Decisive moment -
A lacrosse player shooting behind the back into the lacrosse net. This was shot right before the ball hit the net.

The lacrosse player sets his bag down beside the goal
before practicing. Most lacrosse players go through trial
and error before getting into the sport.

Lacrosse can be irritating at first because you need to
learn the basic fundamentals of shooting, passing, and
                                       catching.

The lacrosse player starts to work on his overhand shot
but misses the net every time.

His shot does not look like it is improving so he is upset
                                      and irritated.

After a long session of practicing his overhand shot,
                                     he is frustrated and exhausted.

The lacrosse player gets back to practicing and after
a couple shots, he finally puts his shot on net.

The lacrosse player celebrates after a long session of
frustration.

Lacrosse can be frustrating to learn at first but when
you get the basics down, it is worth it.
